![]() ![]() Allegedly, Google used data from the competition to train its own AI. ![]() In the race for the best information and search results from the Internet, the top dog Google, wants to counteract this with Bard. Microsoft has invested several billions in the chat GPT developer OpenAI to strengthen its AI division. Now the chatbot, which was previously only available in Microsoft's own browser Edge, has been expanded to include LaTeX. In February, Microsoft announced the integration of OpenAI's ChatGPT into the Bing search engine, thereby helping the language model to access up-to-date content from the Internet and your own searches to get better results. The integration is complete and LaTeX is available in the chatbot supported by ChatGPT. Mathematical formulas are "now beautifully formatted and easy to read, so you can learn and study in chat mode," tweeted Bing boss Jordi Ribas, who is also responsible for artificial intelligence (AI). Microsoft's Bing chat now also supports the LaTeX typesetting system, which is popular for scientific and mathematical work. I drew this mask in Procreate on my iPad and then traced it to vector. I use the free Silhouette Studio from Silhouette America. So it cannot even maintain the vector or convert back to vector when you open it in Photo to warp. I sent to Photo so that I could Mesh Warp as the Mesh Warp is not in Designer, but when I went BACK to Designer, my design was no LONGER Vector, but a raster image. I typed black words in Designer and they were Vector. When they say Designer is a Vector based equivalent of Illustrator or Inkscape, it seems odd that it doesn't have the basic functionality of being able to trace even a black design into a vector. Vector tracing traces shape fill as well. "manually dragging around the vector pen along lines" is not the same as Vector Tracing. So converting from Raster into Vector is a basic function of all other vector based programs. There's no AUTO trace in Affinity Designer (v1 or v2), but you can manually trace ! Logo by Nick (or something like this) has a pretty good tutorial about this on YouTube! The Affinity suite may be far from perfect, but it is generally improving on a regular basis (lets not mention the 1.9. There are separate threads defending Serif as well as others complaining about today's announcement as well.Just to make things clear for people coming here to read this thread. I used to be disappointed, but now Im ambivalent. This is a big reason why I'm reluctant to buy AD2. ![]() It's a function that would be greatly beneficial and I am disappointed we users are still waiting for it. "I’m psyched: non-destructive all the things!" exclaimed Scoo on Reddit. Is it ever going to happen I know this has been requested for a long time, but please include an autotrace feature for Affinity 2 products. I bought Photo in 2016 so happy to throw them more money," said CameronWLucas. "Non destructive RAW and luminosity masks will be a game changer. "I'm happy with the warp and shape builder in designer and style picker for text on desktop. Not all creators were so negative, however. Graphic Tracer Professional give you Fast & Easy Bitmap to Vector Conversion using advanced Sensedge Technology AutoTrace Black & White, Greyscale, and Color. The price is fine, the software is excellent, and I'll definitely buy it, but still disappointed. Then it's just a version updated with no new software, and there's not even an upgrade discount for current users. They took down their website like it was going to be some major Apple-style release. Reddit user snarton said, "I'm quite disappointed. "Definitely overhyped IMO, I was sure they would be realising a DAM from all the marketing hype." "While the new features are cool they just seem like features that would be added in an incremental update, not a major overhaul like this was touted to be," argued lurchh. "Yeh, pretty underwhelming but with the glacial pace of updates over the years maybe that’s on me," said crispeddit. They added, "What's the "Thing you've been waiting for" they talked about in the announcement?" The poster of that thread said, "personally I'm very disappointed, not only is it mainly just performance fixes and a redesign, there is also no new feature that's really that impressive." The Affinity subreddit has a reaction thread to the launch of Affinity 2. Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Designer 2, and Affinity Publisher 2 all have new features, but some claim that they are not big enough changes to justify a jump to the next generation. The jump to version 2 was supposed to be held off until a major jump in features. That license will normally cost $170, but is currently on sale for 40% off, which brings it down to $100. Serif also announced a Universal License that gets you Affinity Photo 2, Affinity Designer 2 and Affinity Publisher 2 for use on Mac, PC and iPad.
